Our Story
Family-Run Vineyard
Helme Edge Vineyard, nestled in the foothills of the Pennines, is a small family boutique operation run by three generations of the Calder/Smith family (Alan, Fiona and Tom). The vineyard is situated on sloping ground on Helme Edge which looks down towards the beautiful conservation village of Helme with its distinctive church steeple and rectory. The Pennines loom on the horizon tracking from West Nab across to Deer Hill and Meltham Cop, giving the vineyard a very scenic backdrop with one of the finest views in Yorkshire. The town of Meltham lies a mile to the south with the bustling town of Holmfirth a few miles further away.

Our Wine
Hand-Grown Quality
Our flagship English Sparkling Solaris is made by the traditional Champagne method. Grapes are picked relatively early to ensure acidity. The wine is bright with pleasing effervescence and a fruity character.
Still Solaris is made from fully ripened grapes and gives a medium bodied wine with refreshing citrus and green apple flavours.
Our pale pink rosé is made from a blend of Cabernet Cortis, Rondo and Solaris. The wine is also medium bodied, with notes of fresh red berries.
